Prefab Cabinets Hattiesburg | Dogs Remodeling

Good afternoon readers of the new and improved Prefab Cabinets Hattiesburg! We are glad that you have decided to come hang with Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring on this fine afternoon. The weather hasn’t changed much since the past few weeks. Rain dominating the sunny clear days and making life harder for everyone. Tomorrow there is an appointment to go dress shopping. Will it happen? Who knows because there are chances of rain all day. How are we supposed to function every day when it rains every day? Personally I think it’s a great excuse to stay home and take a nap.

The Dog Side of Remodeling

Not everyone has pets, but those that do know that it can be a little bit of a challenge when remodeling your house. Cats are one thing to deal with when remodeling, but we are going to talk about our experience with remodeling an old almost condemned house while having two dogs. One dog is only twelve weeks old and thinks he rules the house. The other is a year old lab who feel injustice on a strong level. Both feel that they are entitled to every inch of the house.

This poses a problem. Dogs don’t know why they suddenly can’t run into the master bedroom and poop everywhere they please. All they know is that before they could. Teaching a dog that they have rules in the house when before they didn’t is a task in itself to be completed. This can make remodeling a room more difficult when having to work around a little twelve week old puppy. He is quite the cheerleader, however, he likes to make the kitchen and living room and any other available space in the house a bathroom. Just saying. You might want to watch out for this.

Consider The Dogs

One of the positive things about having a dog in your home while remodeling is that you can take it into consideration about incorporating dog friendly spaces into your projects. They are also great company when you are there working on the house by yourself especially when you need to complain and there they are being loyal and listening like a good little therapist. If you are working in and outside it’s always nice to have a little doggie running around with you keeping an eye out for snakes and bugs.

What We Have Learned

So far on the home remodeling with dogs adventure what I have learned is that you will have to take extra precautions with your little furry companions to make sure they don’t get under your feet and venture off into places where they could get injured. Remember, as close as dogs might seem to be like humans they are not and they need us to keep them safe. So when we work on something in the house we make sure our little pup is in a place where he can’t get hurt. We give him breaks and let him come look around to feel involved at times.

Maybes & Wishes

There are a few things I would like to incorporate when remodeling our home that caters to pets. Little built in spaces for dogs and cats to sleep or chill out would be nice especially if we could put in a built in dog bathing space in the laundry room. Right now we do like everyone else and bathe our dogs in the tub. It isn’t too bad right now since he is still small…but the big one…we would like to have a special space for him.

Tip of the Week

The tip of the week is brought to you by Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring. We got yo back! Today’s tip of the week is make sure you know your bible stuff because when Joey the mascot comes around implying that you are condemned having a nose piercing you can bark out the scripture that shuts him down. Make sure you know your stuff or else you going to look like a dummy and he will win. We can’t let him win. Unless you have another agenda and angle to work from…just saying. Know your stuff.
