Custom Cabinets Picayune | Copper Designs
Dear Readers of Custom Cabinets Picayune. Today at Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring we are going to try something a little different and write our article in the style of a diary. Is that not exciting? I can barely sit still. The rain is still ravaging the south, but the temperatures have gone up and we are no longer freezing. Perhaps now Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring can function without wondering if they are going to die of frostbite. However exciting the warmer tempts might be the ghostly pale shade of my legs is disconcerting. There are so many options for the dejected fair skinned in the world. Real tans, fake tans–which is better? Personally, fake is better as far as UV damage is concerned. But what about that hideous copper color we all turn?
Copper Designs
Copper is an interesting thing. White skinned people turn copper when they try out fake tans. Copper pipes are bursting in older homes and causing a lot of stress on families. The microscopic residual copper in our water is causing copper poisoning in certain individuals. Copper can be toxic in large doses and yet we are making pots and pans out of copper… Interesting indeed. Just as interesting as the copper design in homes, mostly kitchens.
Copper Kitchens
A copper design can really look like anything. It can be orange skinned people or copper furnishings in a living room. It could mean having all of your pots and pans made of copper or simply just copper decorations. The copper design is whatever you make it. But what about the copper poisoning? Won’t it cause a lot of detrimental health problems in those unknowingly ingesting it? Have I consumed small amounts of copper from the copper pipes in our bathroom at home? Does this mean I’ll die? Would my kitchen look good with copper appliances and silverware? Is it still called silverware when it is made of copper?
Safe Copper
Dear Readers of Custom Cabinets Picayune, what is the safe way to use copper? For humans, the safest way to get that great natural tan is to spend the extra bucks and buy a self tanner that will NOT turn your pale body copper. For homes the best thing to do is make sure that your copper incorporation matches up with the health codes. Copper pipes promote a risk of ingesting small particles of copper in your water. Copper is important to have for our human bodies to function, but too much can lead to copper poisoning which can be serious. Same can be said when using copper utensils and cookware. Make sure to care properly for your copper utensils and cookware and be aware when they start to wear down. Your food may start tasting slightly coppery and cause you significant intestinal upset. Copper hardware comes and go with the trends, but is a safe way to add copper to your home. No one should be ingesting copper in any way, form, or fashion.
Lighting
Copper lighting has been a popular trend for the past few seasons. Whether it stays around for a little bit I guess we will see. Copper lighting fixtures can add some modernity to an otherwise traditional home. Subtle hints of copper can look great in a space without the worry of going out of date too soon. Copper goes in and out so quickly that unless you really love the look of copper, Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring does not necessarily recommend going copper. Depending on where you get your copper the prices may not fit everyone’s budget. Copper can be quite pricey and especially these days. Copper pipes are worth some money if they are kept up in the right kind of shape.
Bottom Line
So the bottom line about copper is that since Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring is writing this article in the style of a diary…sort of, we do not really like the idea of copper. In some ways copper can look awesome, but mostly it is just a pain because the styles that involve copper do not last long enough to put forth the kind of effort needed to make a nicely copper designed space. Copper is harsher on the eyes and tends to age badly and requires too much of an upkeep.
