Custom Cabinets Picayune | Beach Minimalism
Good afternoon readers of Custom Cabinets Picayune! Welcome back after a short hiatus! Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring are happy to be back with our Picayune readers. We cannot wait to start this series. Wild’s Cabinets and Flooring is ready to fill up the minds of our readers with home remodeling information and history. In our previous series Custom Cabinets Hattiesburg we published quite a few articles talking about the historical area of home remodeling. You gain a new perspective on the home you already have especially when you look back on time in the Medieval days. People were grateful to have a board to lay over stumps.
Beach Minimalism
Minimalism is not necessarily something you associate with the beach. But really, it us an understood essential element. Going to the beach requires the basics of sun survival. You do not need many clothes, but just the bare essentials. Even with eating. Beach houses are nice when they are littered with seashell and mermaid decor, but really the simpler the better. You want to feel like you are in a beach wonderland, not Ursula’s lair. It is easy to get out of control when decorating a beach house. I mean, you are at the beach.
How To?
How to create the minimalistic design in the style of a beach house? Well, not much different than you would any other home. Keep it simple. Keep it clean. Keep it streamlined. Classy beach pieces would work great in a minimalistic beach house such as a navy ceramic mermaid lamp with a grey shade on a simple wooden end table next to a neutral couch. This is simplicity, but beach style. In order to create the perfect minimalist beach house you have to tap in to your inner beachy minimalist. If you are not a minimalist then you are going to have hard time executing this style let alone liking it.
Samples
Like the mermaid lamp, you want to add hints of the beach in your decor. It can be tricky to find decor that fits the beach and the minimalistic style. This is when you need to check out social media for ideas to help you along with what will fit this criteria. Another sample idea is paint colors. You can subtly add some beach flare to your space with the right wall colors such as blues and beige. Take the natural colors you find from the beach and implement them into your space. Your minimalistic beach look will pull together nicely.
Location Friendly
Not all locations are going to work with an outside beach look. An interior beach design can be done anywhere–it’s your home and you can decorate and design however you want–however, if you live in a suburban area in the state of Seattle well a beach themed exterior might stand out in a grotesque kind of way instead of a eye catching one. Beach interiors if not located near or on a beach will do better to be condensed to a single space instead of an entire house. For instance, home owners love decorating bathrooms in a beach theme. I guess because it has to do with getting wet…? I really don’t know. Maybe we can do a beach theme in the laundry room…I think I might just do that in my own house!
Beach Kitchen Minimalism
I have not seen many beach themed kitchens outside of a beach condo to be honest. But I can imagine that if done correctly a beach minimalistic look can become a striking center to any beach home. Remember subtle and simple is the key to a minimalist home. I am not a minimalist decorator so this is not my area of expertise, however I appreciate the idea of minimalism especially done in a beautiful styles such as beach design. Driftwood colors of pieces can add a sense of subtle elegance to a beach minimalist kitchen. Dainty starfish, corals, and pearls are all good inspirational ideas to add to your minimalist beach kitchen. Keep in mind that sometimes it is color over item that creates the beach feel. Decorative pieces are minimal in spaces like these.
