Custom Cabinets Picayune | Bathroom Design
Good afternoon readers of Custom Cabinets Picayune! It is that time in the afternoon when I think I am starting to smell myself… And I do not mean my perfume. My chair is growing stiffer as well as my back and I think I see a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Yet, the day is nowhere near over. A long drive to Hattiesburg for church and then the long drive back home. Part of me wants it to start storming so I have a great excuse to not go. I know there are some of you out there that get what I am saying.
We do not talk much about bathroom designs on Custom Cabinets Picayune. Probably because it is just down right boring. Another reason might be that I have a tendency towards a sick mind. So yeah. There is that. But bathroom design is important especially for women. For instance, my fiance really does not seem to care if the bathroom has an elegant touch to it. He just needs it to be functional and catering to his special needs. I am not even entirely sure if he requires a door…
Types of Designs
There are several types of bathroom designs such as what is common to most room designs. You have got elegant, traditional, modern, and rustic. There are more, obviously. Today we are going to talk about a few of the most common designs and what is popular in bathroom design. All bathrooms are going to have similar traits because, I mean, they are bathrooms and they serve a specific, incredibly important purpose. Not just pooping, but for cleaning off our bodies that apparently start smelling sometime around two in the afternoon in mid April. Thank God that we have bathrooms.
There was a time when indoor plumbing was totally not a thing and we were all relieving ourselves in the pitch black of night along with who knows what kind of creatures. Personally, if I can’t find something to thank God for, that is always going to be something to be grateful for. The majority of bathrooms are just a straight square with your basic counter top and sink, tub maybe shower head with a generic toilet (random question: why are toilets mostly white? Wouldn’t it be better for them to be brown?)
These days bathroom can look just as stylish as our bedrooms. Like for real. Some people’s bathrooms look bigger and better than my bedroom where I sleep. Bathrooms now have the option to look as glamorous or simple as they want to, or rather how we want them to look. Modern looks have more square edges and darker shades with fewer colors. Sinks are odd shapes, toilets have little squirt devices on them, and showers are more like Jacuzzis. We are indeed in the age of materialism. Not that I would object to a bathroom like that. Bring on the spa tub.
The majority of the female population is taken in by an elegant bathroom. I mean, who would not want to bath in glamorous luxury? Bathrooms can be as big as your master walk in closet that fits your twenty pairs of name brand tennis shoes you never wear. Showers have built in benches so you can lay down and bathe when you are too lazy to actually stand up. Personally I think it would be nice to have a place to put my feet when I shave in the shower. But how do you not slip off the benches when you sit there and they are all soapy? Just saying.
Rustic Bathroom Design
This can be taken two different ways. One is the country chic rustic style bathroom with natural wood decor and cabinets and stuff like that, old fashioned claw foot tubs, palate shelves…the works. And then there is the literal rustic bathroom that is a completely separate entity outside the house. We ain’t going to have that in this day in age unless you really have gone off the deep end and want to go back to the primitive days when we ate each other.
